Your Guide to Fall and Halloween Fun in Hardin County
That crisp fall weather and the turning leaves bring a full calendar of fall fun to Hardin County. From farm-to-table dinners and costumed pets to ghost tours and candy-filled trails, there’s something happening almost every weekend. Whether you’re here for the food, the frights, or just a reason to pull on a cozy sweater, Hardin County has something waiting for you this season.
October 4 — Howloween Costume Contest and Parade
1:00 PM – 1:30 PM
Paws Landing Dog Park, Pickwick Landing State Park
Bring your furry friend dressed for Halloween to the Paws Landing Dog Park for a howling good time! Enjoy a spooky costume contest with medals awarded in fun categories, followed by a short parade to show off those paws-itively amazing outfits. Stick around after the parade for the Bark Ranger Breakdown program.
Would you like to help grow the park? Donations support the care of animals in the park’s Aviary and Reptile Room.
October 14 — Farm to Table Dinner in Downtown Savannah
Savannah Market
Open seating at 5:30 PM | Dinner served at 6:00 PM
Celebrate the end of Farmers Market season with the 7th Annual Farm to Table Dinner in downtown Savannah. This year’s theme is “This Little Piggy Went to Market,” featuring a full menu of pork-centered dishes and locally sourced sides.
Menu includes:
Pulled pork, ribs, bacon, baloney appetizers and entrees, seasonal vegetables, breads, cheeses, Tennessee spirits, and desserts.
Catering by:
- Hardin County High School Culinary Department
- Cedar Chest liquors
- UT Extension and 4-H
Enjoy live music from Steve Cagle, photo ops, door prizes, and plenty of fall fun.

October 24 — 4th Annual Treat Trail at Sheltering Tree Ranch

Sheltering Tree Ranch Barn
You’ve been to a Trunk-or-Treat… but have you walked a Treat Trail?
Hosted by the Ranch Staff at Sheltering Tree Ranch, this creative, family-friendly event features:
- Traditional trunks filled with candy
- A walk through the horse barn where excellently dressed equines hand out treats
- A Treat Trail where candy really does grow on trees
It’s a fun twist on Halloween that brings smiles (and sweets) for all ages.
October 25 — Savannah Cemetery Tour
1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Tours leave hourly from the Savannah Theater
Step into Savannah’s past during this walking tour through the historic cemetery. Costumed interpreters portray real former residents, sharing their life stories among the gravestones.
Tours leave every hour starting at 1:00 PM, with the last tour departing at 7:00 PM. Be prepared for uneven terrain—good walking shoes are a must.
Tickets are limited and should be purchased in advance.
October 25 — Scarybook Trail at Pickwick Landing State Park
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Meet at 131–180 Marina Rd, Pickwick Dam, TN
Join the 5th Annual Scarybook Trail, a spooky 0.25-mile hike complete with creepy crawlies, fun animal-themed mysteries, and a Halloween story along the trail.
- A wagon shuttle will run from the Marina parking lot to the trailhead
- Come dressed in costume
- Candy will be handed out along the trail
Shuttles run from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and will return guests afterward.
Accessibility:
- Family-friendly for ages infant to teen
- Handicap-accessible wagons available
- Note: There will be slow strobe lights along the trail
October 31 — Treat Street 2025
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Savannah Main Street & Market Pavilion
Treat Street is Hardin County’s Halloween centerpiece event, and this year it offers two ways to participate:
- Trunk or Treat on Main Street: Decorate your car and hand out candy
- Vendor Booths at Court Square or Market Pavilion: Set up a 10×10 booth to join in the fun and promote your business
